Development and Clinical Testing in Humans of a Gene Gun Delivered DNA Vaccine to Prevent Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome
Project leaders from the U.S. team are:
(1) Connie Schmaljohn, Ph.D., who serves as the Integrated Products Team (IPT) Chair and who coordinated the vaccine development effort
(2) Jay W. Hooper, Ph.D., the principal scientist involved in developing and preclinical testing of the vaccine
(3) Diane Ullman, M.S., who coordinated all regulatory aspects of vaccine development, including interactions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(4) Ellen Boudreau, M.D., who is the principal clinical investigator and who administered the vaccine to human volunteers
Project leaders from the international team (United Kingdom) are:
(1) Priya Mande, Ph.D., who coordinated interactions of the international team
(2) Richard Cartwright, Ph.D., who led efforts for device manufacturing and testing
(3) Peter Loudon, Ph.D., who served as the scientific liaison for the collaborative team
